Fenty, valued at $2.8 Bn, sells through Sephora stores and retail stores like Ulta and Boots in the US and UK.
In Europe, Middle East, South-East Asia, Mexico, and Australia, Fenty is exclusively sold in Sephora stores.
In India? No presence.
Rihanna is now eyeing India as an emerging market for her brand.
And why not?
As per the Indus Valley Report 2024, 89% of all beauty spends is contributed by top 12 crore Indians (consumer class).
To capture this market, Rihanna is eyeing Sephora India.
Now, here's where mota bhai comes into the picture.
Reliance Retail acquired the rights for Sephora India from Arvind Fashions for $11.98 Mn in Nov 2023.
So Rihanna was really there to make business connections and get her brand into India!
She may have cracked a deal with the Ambani’s.
