💪Empowering Women, One Period at a Time
India has seen a significant rise in menstrual hygiene in the last five years. What's behind this change? Read on.
💡 Did you know that 78% of adolescent girls (out of 2,41,112 women surveyed) have reported that they use hygienic protection during their menstrual cycle? That's a big jump from 58.3% five years back! 🙌
What's behind this change?
Well, a lot of credit goes to some awareness programs and government initiatives.
👉 In 2021-22, nearly 34.92 lakh adolescent girls got access to sanitary napkins every month. That's a lot of smiles, right?
👉 The Odisha government also launched the 'Khushi' scheme, giving 17 lakh girls in government-aided schools free sanitary napkins.
And guess what? Various government ministries are rolling out even more schemes to support menstrual hygiene. It's time to empower women and break all taboos.
