π India has the largest adolescent population of ~116 million in the world. Though women constitute to ~48% of Indiaβs population, menstruation, a natural biological process, faces many stigmas and taboos.
π 78% of adolescent girls (of 2,41,112 girls surveyed) have reported they use a hygienic method of protection during their menstrual cycle in 2019-21, a substantial increase from 58.3% in 2015-16.
