👉🏻 Now that Twitter belongs to Musk, he has ambitious plans for the platform (other than getting rid of censorship). He'll start by appointing a new CEO as he has no confidence in Twitter's management. But Parag Agrawal will receive $38.7mn compensation as part of his contract. Musk also wants to monetise tweets that go viral or have important information. Third-party websites would also be entitled to a fee if they embed tweets from verified accounts. He is also considering paying influencers and offering subscriptions.
👉🏻 Two foreign giants, Amazon and Flipkart, are reigning over India's e-commerce market. To counter this, the government has launched a new platform for e-commerce in 5 cities: Open Network for Digital Commerce. This platform will be like an open marketplace where both traders and consumers can come in to buy and sell goods. It will be like the UPI for e-commerce. Traders will also be able to save their data and build a credit history, making it easier to get loans. Will this actually help small traders?
👉🏻 The government is finally taking action against electric vehicle companies after several incidents of burning EVs have come to light in the last few days. So, it has announced that no new two-wheeler EVs will be launched till the reason behind EV fires is figured out. Also, all manufacturers will have to recall batches of EVs if even one from that batch was involved in an incident. Will this setback India's plans to go green?
